The greatest question to ask before going into your kitchen.

April 20, 2015 By Karen Main Leave a Comment

It was only a few years ago I found myself in a rut.

I was going through the motions of a busy and yet unfulfilling life.

It was not like anything was stand out wrong, in fact my life was a blessed one, and yet this sense of dissatisfaction tinged most of my days.

Not enough pain to cause me to take action, just enough pain to rob me of moments of joy.

I languished on autopilot hoping time would somehow fix my problem.

I just needed to suck it up and get life done, or so I thought.

One afternoon, while trawling the internet I discovered The Desire Map.

A simple process for creating a life that feels good.  I wanted in.

Within days of opening this book I was creating feel good moments.

I viewed my everyday life as a rich source of happiness.

The kitchen, my most visited space, would become my happy place.
Desire Map
You visit your kitchen countless times each and every day and in most homes it is the central hub of activity.

It is more than a place to eat and prepare food.

It is where you have deep conversations over bottomless cups of tea.

It is where food is prepared that nourishes your body and your soul.

It is where you discuss plans for the day ahead.

It is where you teach your children to cook.

It is where you reunite after long and busy days.

It is where you pop open bottles of wine in anticipation of great company.

It is where you wipe cheeks before heading off to school.

It is where you bake and prepare gifts to show how much you care.

It is where you gather with those you love.

The kitchen is the heart and soul of your home.

How do you want to feel when you walk into your kitchen?

Nourished or Deprived ???

Efficient or Wasteful ???

Nurtured or Neglected ???

Cherished or Forgotten ???

Organised or Frantic ???

Light or Heavy ???

Supported or Abandoned ???

Energised or Lethargic ???

Sustained or Starved ???

Treasured or Disregarded ???

Valuable or Worthless ???

Healthy or Sickly ???

Now over to you…….

Fill in the blanks.

When I walk into my kitchen I want to feel …………….. and ………………… and even ……………………

To feel this way I will ………………….………………………………………….starting today.
