I love lists, I love taking notes and I love to journal.
I decided to buy my first journal 12 years ago and have quite the collection now. My first one was a lovely girly book with motivational quotes throughout. Looking back I think this was when my stationary love affair began. I loved to open that book and enjoy the delicious indulgence of fancy paper. It was my journal and it was special.
I don’t, however, like loose bits of paper everywhere. I love when my notes are in a book or a pad, safe where they can’t get lost.
This presents a challenge, to always have on hand a notepad and pen.
I have had a number of Spirax notebooks over the years, I scribble way in them, make notes and lists. My busy and creative brain does not want to forget an idea, an opportunity. I write them down to keep them safe, stored carefully for when I may need them.
Then a few years ago I looked at all the cute and adorable stationary my daughter had. My Spirax no longer had appeal. I decided to treat myself to one special pretty notebook as well as my journal.
Now I had started something. Kikki K became more fun than Witchery or Country Road, I wanted pretty pens, pretty shopping lists. Then came Smiggle, do I want bright, co ordinated or stylish sophisticated?
I have a nice collection now, each with their own specific purpose. As you can see I decided to leave the bright and colourful to the kids and I have chosen an eclectic and inspiring collection. There is my ideas book (my blog was born within those pages many months ago), my journal, a notebook for planning, a Happy and Fun To Do list, a cute notepad and a lot of pretty pens.
I sat down today to plan my day and I took a moment to enjoy my simple indulgence, my fancy stationary and I smiled.
