You stir in the night, worry quickly jolting you into consciousness.
You lay there for hours, physically tossing and turning.
Your thoughts churning over. Did I do the right thing? Say the right thing? Was it enough? Am I enough?
You eventually drift into a restless slumber only to wake exhausted, tired before the new day begins.
It’s time for a change.
You tell yourself things will get better, one day.
One day when the kids are older, when you have less responsibilities, when you have more money, when you have more time.
One day you will live the life of your dreams.
The life of your dreams? What’s that? You can’t imagine.
It’s time for a change.
You meet up with a friend, and like a teenager going through a bad break up, you can’t hold back from complaining.
The frustration and burden have become too much to bear, too intense to hold in.
You want the world to know what ‘they’ve‘ done, what ‘they’re‘ doing and everything that’s happened.
You lay it all out, the frustration and resentment spewing forth like hot lava, destroying everything beautiful in its path.
There’s no joy in your story, it’s angry and heavy.
It’s time for a change.
The alarm goes, you wish it hadn’t. Your feet touch the ground and gravity seems stronger, you drag yourself along.
You hear the kids squabbling, you struggle with the urge to yell back.
You trip over a shoe, again you suppress the urge to snipe and yell.
You begin your day…… you work, you tidy, you fold, you cook, you drive others around……you rinse and repeat over and over.
Finally you fall back into bed exhausted and wondering who you now are and what it’s all for.
It’s time for a change.
Whether you are worrying alone in the dark of night, hoping for a miracle to swoop in and change your fate, complaining for all the world to hear or suffering along in agonising silence you are living in emotional discomfort and pain.
If you are suffering and not actively creating a life you love then yes, it’s time for a change.
Time to switch on, to feel and acknowledge your pain and anguish. Use them as signs and motivation to change direction.
Time to decide what you want to do with this glorious life you’ve been given. Create a vision of your ideal future, not the life you suffer through now.
Time to find a purpose, a passion, a reason to get up and embrace each new day. Know what matters most to you and then design a life to support more of this.
Time to take responsibility for making the change only you can. It’s up to you. Take action. Deliberate and intentional steps that move toward a life you love.
Time to be supported, you do not have to go it alone. Seek guidance, reach out for assistance. It’s up to you to find help and ask for it.
Buy a book, join a community group, subscribe to a blog, go to a workshop, attend a seminar, get a coach or mentor.
Do what you need to do to take that first step to begin the journey.
Imagine one small action each week will add up to 52 actions in a year.
It’s time NOW to take the lead, jump back in the driver’s seat of your life and change direction.
Time to start steering toward a life you love.
