Welcome back as I share my Ordinarily Fabulous Moments from this week:
The times when life
Nudged me, Tugged on my heart, Nourished my soul, Anchored me in the now.
The moments that Enlightened, Refreshed, Captured, Stimulated and Inspired me to;
Enjoy, Reflect, Ponder, Contemplate, Appreciate, Embrace.
The moments when I discovered my own Breathtaking in the Familiar.
This week has been anything but ordinary, it has been fabulous, fabulous, and even more fabulous.
I have just indulged in 4 days at Airley Beach, the gateway to The Whitsunday Islands. Although I have visited many parts of Queensland I have never made it to this region. I was not disappointed, stunning beaches, 5 star islands to cruise to, white sandy beaches, inland waterfalls, the list goes on. It is a beautiful part of our glorious country. Best of all for this cold Melbournian, it is warm this time of year.
The reason and most fabulous part of all was the company I was in.
I had flown there with my very dear friend Linda, we were meeting up with our friends Annette, Ray and Caleb. They are currently travelling around Australia with a caravan. We joined them on day 253 of their life changing trip. Read about it here on Annette’s blog.
Linda, Annette and I have known each other since high school. We have grown up together, we have laughed, cried and celebrated together. This was however the first time we have been away together since Year 12 camp.
It was fabulous. We were able to spend time just being together for four whole days.
We talked, we ate, we drank, and we shopped.
We laughed, we hugged, we cried and we reminisced.
We fabulously connected.
More Ordinarily Fabulous, soul nourishing moments this week.
Wearing thongs, not the lingerie kind, the ones on my feet. After boots and socks it was so lovely to feel sun on my toes.
Thick socks on the plane. I love that cosy and comfortable feeling when I put on warm socks and settle in with a magazine for the flight.
Free WIFI anywhere, how exciting is free WIFI when you travel.
I get a thrill from free gifts with magazines. Not just any gift, useful gifts, tasteful gifts and things I may need. My favourites over the years include bags, sunhats, tshirts, nail polishes and lip glosses. Imagine my delight when I received a pretty umbrella with my Marie Claire. I left my umbrella in a cafe last week, wow useful and pretty too. Ticks in all the boxes.
I savoured my morning cup of tea in the sunshine all weekend.
Arriving home late and eager to see my sleeping children I crept in to kiss their cheeks. As I leant over Talan his little arms reached up and wrapped around my neck. “Missed you Mummy”, he whispered.
More than fabulous.
What a week.

Your trip to see us was truly a gift. Better than any magazine freebie. You are a wise and wonderful woman, touching so many lives and leaving your ideas and thoughtfulness wherever you tread. Caleb’s car conversation this morning has centred solely around your camera and his future plans to have one just like it. Miss Fancypants has been an inspiration, so thanks to her too!
Best idea we have all had in years. Thanks again
I can’t believe how easily we fell in step together. It’s like we travelled together all the time. I truly enjoyed this time we spent together. And Karen……you should take a selfie of yourself 😉
We are awesome travel buddies. Yes you can never take too many selfies, especially of yourself
