She sat quietly in the audience, a tear gently spilled into her lap, maternal pride, a friend reached over, patted her leg

He arrived late, she stirred in her sleep, his arm coiled around her, she smiled to herself

The kids raced through the kitchen, she continued to chop and stir, a hand came to rest on her shoulder

Her arm absently drifted across the sofa, stroking the silky grey fur, a purr, a glance
– This is the life……no words spoken
He lovingly tucked Teddy back under the covers, a sleepy arm reached up, wrapped around his neck
– Love you Dad…….no words spoken
A wet nose nudged at his leg, he looked down, patted his head
– Love ya mate….. no words spoken
People were everywhere, rushing to their seats, it was about to start, she glanced around, saw him, she smiled, he smiled back
– Maybe later?…….no words spoken
The phone beeped, a new message, a photo, all smiles from the other side of the world
– Having the best time…….no words spoken
He stood beside her, she rested her head on his shoulder
– Thanks for being here……no words spoken
They held each other, squeezed tight
