I bought this dainty bunch of Iris on a whim.
A moment of “Oh wow, my favourite flower, I love these, so why not…..”
They were scrunched up tight, all in a bud. Not pretty actually, green sticks with purple spears. I knew they had potential, the ability to wow and brighten a little corner of my home.
I admire the boldness of this flower, grabbing its colour from the cooler side of the palette. Standing proud beside the dainty pinks, vibrant reds, and sparkly yellows.
I stood them in a vase on my kitchen bench, ready to watch them uncurl and display their unique and distinct beauty.
Once they are open you see it, the contrasting splash of yellow, the surprise package deep inside the flower.
I imagined this to be their clever way of greeting me, trusting how much I would appreciate the best they have to offer.
Today I am savouring their beauty, admiring their tiny exquisite details.
Today as I wander into my kitchen I pause when I see this little bunch of flowers, and I smile.
This little bunch of flowers is offering me a simple dose of bliss and today I am wholeheartedly accepting their offer.
Why not buy your own little bunch of bliss this week?
This is day 21 of my 31 Days of Captured Bliss.

Ooooooh. Day 21. What a lovely collection of beauty. Did you get an extra umph of bliss today, Karen? I did.
Iris is one of my favorite flowers. That and peony. Flashes of beauty. I have to keep my eyes open to not miss their short, vibrant life. A good practice.
Susan those flowers with such short lives are often the most exquisite
I tend to prefer the cooler side of the color scale so this beautiful iris arrangement feeds my soul! Yes! I am going to buy my own little bunch of bliss!
This is lovely Karen. I love the idea of the flowers offering you a daily dose of bliss. I think that those offerings are around us all the time. We just need to look closely and be open to accepting them.
So true Christine, simple doses of beauty
