I went to a birthday party today.
A grown up party, at lunch time.
Today is my friend’s birthday and to celebrate she invited a few friends over for a scrumptious lunch..
The majority of us had never met.
We all shared one thing, a friend, drifting into her life though work, children and fitness interests.
Lunch began with introductions and lots of where do you lives, and how do you know the Birthday Girl?
Conversation flowed easily, sparked by a room filled with genuine curiosity.
A desire to discover more about each other.
A respect for each other’s unique offering.
For two amazing hours we were kindred spirits.
Kindreds caught in a zone.
We shared salads, cakes and champagne.
We shared our stories.
We shared abundant laughter.
We shared our wisdom.
We shared our talents….some singing, some dancing and even a touch of yodeling.
We shared an afternoon.
Most importantly we all shared a desire, a desire to celebrate a friend and her birthday.
Today I met a gorgeous group of women and today I spent two blissful hours getting to know them.
