Once every 365 days I devote an entire 24 hours to me.
It is a day when I put myself first.
A day when I consciously appreciate myself.
A day when I am showered with love and adoration, and it feels okay.
A day when I love and adore myself, and that feels okay too.
A day filled with hugs and kisses
A day to receive flowers and eat chocolates and cakes
A day to read sweet messages and open homemade cards and thoughtful gifts.
A day to take off and go out for lunch with those I love.
A day with no cooking or housework.
A day overflowing with love and happiness.
Yes it is my one day every year when I indulge in countless random pleasures.
A day devoted to generating fabulous joy.
It is the one day I don’t hold back, I live large and enjoy every single moment.
Yes today is my birthday and I am celebrating myself and I am loving it.

ahhh…. birthdays! Our kids are still small, so a lot of our birthday celebrations still revolve around them. But it was so cute getting coloring pages that they had made especially for me – and then going to the park. It was fun. And my husband surprised me with a special dinner that night, too.
I love the colouring pages and now the handmade cards. A special dinner would be the perfect end to a fabulous day.
Oh you inspire me! My birthday is in August – our summer – and lately my two have cooked me dinner. Such a treat. So much fun to hear them fussing about in the kitchen and knowing it’s all for me AND I don’t have to do dishes.
