It is delicious, it is infrequent and oh so brief.
A gesture from nature, a glimpse at the future.
Oh yes it is on its way.
The days lengthen, the mornings seem brighter, bolder.
It begins in early October, slowly increasing day by day.
Shifting gradually, edging closer and closer to that sweet spot.
That position of the sun, moments before it slowly dips below the horizon. The one perfect angle allowing all the glorious, golden, splendour to drench the deepest darkest corners of our home.
Creating patterns on the walls.
Dancing in the hallway.
Kissing the kitchen bench with golden bliss.

I love the different times of year and the way the sun changes with each. My favorite season is summer because I love having the kids home, but the colors and the way the sun glows in the fall is so beautiful here.
