During my twenties and early thirties my goals focussed on life and career progression. I naturally wanted independence, financial stability and a love to share my life with.
I found it easier back then to decide what more I wanted to do, have and become. A house, a wedding, another promotion, more money, it was all on the list.
But things changed…. I had babies and in those blurry days my goals were simple, get more sleep, eat well, get back to gym and get more sleep.
I didn’t set life goals for a quite a few years. Until one day….
One day when I decided I couldn’t let another year, month, week, day, or even moment pass me by unfulfilled.
I was dissatisfied and wanted more from life, I just didn’t know what. I was in love, had beautiful children, a supportive family, shelter, I wasn’t chasing a career and I was healthy. What could I possibly want?
Here I was, less than half way through my life, and aside from raising kids and supporting my husbands dreams I didn’t know where I was headed.
I knew I needed focus and direction so I wrote down a few goals and got to work. But something was wrong. I was different.
Even though I got busier and started to run around madly, I just wasn’t getting anywhere and I was no more fulfilled than before. It was like my wheels were spinning and I couldn’t get traction.
So I started looking for new ways to find direction and create goals. Lucky for me I found it when I stumbled upon Danielle LaPorte’s The Desire Map – A guide to creating goals with soul.
From the moment I started reading this book the fog began to clear. I started investigating all the areas of my life recognising what I was grateful for and dissatisfied with, building up a picture of what was working and what wasn’t.
I started looking at my health, relationships, career, parenting, home, finances, wellbeing from a place of desire and how I wanted to feel.
Finally I had the guidance I’d been missing – my desired feelings.
It was the magical key I needed, unlocking the door to the future I couldn’t quite see. Since then almost every decision I’ve made has been guided by my deepest desired feelings.
I now know where I’m headed, I have exciting dreams and I make decisions, (even the big ones) with clarity and ease. And best of all, when I’m feeling a bit lost and unsure I have a guidance system to support me.
So… If you want to connect with your dreams and make decisions that move you forward in life but have been struggling with ‘how to’ and confusion, then The Desire Map is the process you’ve been looking for.
My upcoming Melbourne workshop will teach you how to master this process. So if you love the idea of having goals with soul, and you want to understand this powerful process then jump over here and let’s get you started.
P.S. Not in Melbourne, then grab the book, it includes a workbook at the end to guide you.
