Visit me today and you would see a bizarre collection proudly sitting on my buffet. Weeds, Sticks, feathers, rocks, blades of grass, petals, leaves………..
A collection of unremarkable items that has become precious cargo.
We held a scavenger hunt yesterday, scurrying the neighbourhood to check off lists and collect gorgeous bounties.
Perceptions changed and the ordinary became valuable, beautiful treasure.
What about life’s ordinary?
The everyday.
The grind.
The moments we loathe.
The mundane we ignore.
The routines we follow on auto pilot.
The times we often wish away.
The unremarkable in our days.
The moments we spend hanging washing, catching trains, taking showers, preparing meals, driving, wiping benches, wiping noses, wiping bottoms, weeding gardens, taking out rubbish, photocopying, note taking, answering emails……..
The leaves in our garden of life.
Take a fresh look at the beauty, your joy, waiting to be discovered, tucked away, hidden by perception.
Notice the sunlight dappling in the window making pretty patterns above your workspace, smell the change of season in the air as you hang washing, notice the adoring gaze of the toddler as you wipe their nose.
Yes it does take a lot to love a leaf. It requires a conscious effort.
Challenge yourself, embrace a leaf, embrace the ordinary, find the beauty.
Bliss is wasted while waiting for the roses to bloom when the leaves are there all year round.
This is day 28 in my series of 31 days of Captured Bliss
